Definition:  A carrot-on-a-stick offered to entice someone to do what you want them to do, but they probably wouldn’t do otherwise. In other words, a bribe disguised as a reward.

Use It In a Sentence: The latest incentive offered by the company, a free vacation, was just a cheap ploy to get employees to hit their sales targets.
